    Why Renée made it

"Many moisturizing balms simply sit on the surface with a greasy residue making you feel like it’s working, but in truth, it’s failing to correct the underlying dryness. This modern formula truly redefines dry skin moisture care. You can feel the moisture-locking seal become one with your skin!"

  • Feel / Smell / Look

  • This light beige, fragrance-free added balm has a luxurious creamy feel. As it dries down, the balm will feel slightly tacky (this is the unique 'second skin' affect). Once it melts into the skin, it now provides a long-lasting, moisture-locking seal without an unnecessary greasy after feel.

  • FAQs

  • Can I use this product if I'm pregnant?

Yes. There are no ingredients in this product deemed unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Is this product tested on animals?

     No.

What is the pH level of this product?

The pH level of Skin Recovery Balm is 6.4.

I'm used to using a heavier, greasier moisturizer and this one feels very different. Is it enough?

Instead of just relying on occlusives (one method of barrier repair using ingredients that give a greasy feel), Skin Recovery Balm is formulated with five methods. Renée has redefined dry skin moisture care by tapping into Barrier5 technology. This balm essentially becomes one with your skin to correct dryness from deep within the skin without having oils just sitting on the skin's surface that can just get transferred to your pillowcase when you sleep. It will feel different so from a texture standpoint, it will require some getting used to. This is a far superior formula than traditional moisturizers for dry skin correction and barrier restoration.

If you prefer a dewier finish, add a few drops of a skin oil on top, but Skin Recovery Balm alone provides all the moisture retention a dry skin type requires. To learn more about barrier repair read this post.

It doesn't seem to spread like dry skin moisturizers I'm used to using.

This is a true barrier restoring balm in that it creates a (second skin) effect and will not feel like a traditional greasy or silky moisturizer (which rely on just using occlusives to give that feel). When it’s applied, it will feel a bit tacky and then once it dries down, it’s like it becomes one with your skin by creating a protective, moisture-locking seal that you can still feel in the morning. It is this seal that is the beginning of barrier restoration to help correct dryness and dehydration, not just topically, but from deep within the skin.

How can I get it to spread easier over the skin?

For best results for your skin it's best to follow a 4-step regimen. 1. Cleanse 2. Apply toner 3. Apply a serum 4. Apply a moisturizer. Using a toner and serum underneath your moisturizer will enhance the results for your skin while increasing spreadability.

What ingredients provide the moisture-locking seal?

A blend of emollients and occlusives like dimethicone, shea butter and ceramides.

    Where are your products made?

Our products are manufactured in the U.S.

I took your Skin Type Quiz and was wondering if I can use products that weren't specified for my skin type?

Yes. While the skin type product recommendations are carefully selected for the needs of a specific type of skin to give the best results, many people will modify their routine with other products as needed.

I have questions about my skin, where can I get help?

How is Skin Recovery Balm different than Glow Enhancing Creme?

Glow Enhancing Creme moisturizes dry, aging skin for a natural glow. Skin Recovery Balm offers the same benefits, but with a far more advanced formula that restores the skin using Barrier5 technology, enhancing glow without unnecessary excess oils. It's a far superior, moisture-rich formula.

How is Skin Recovery Balm different than Phytolipid Comfort Creme?

Phytolipid Comfort Creme moisturizes dry, sensitive skin. Skin Recovery Balm offers the same benefits, but with a more advanced formula that restores the skin barrier using Barrier5 technology, reducing irritation and sensitivity without unnecessary excess oils. It's a far superior, moisture-rich formula.

How is Skin Recovery Balm different than Rest Day Masque?

Skin Recovery Balm is a moisturizer for daily barrier health maintenance, while Rest Day Masque is a deeply restorative weekly masque (or can be used more often) for correcting visible dryness and flaking caused by retinoids, chemical peels, and other drying topical treatments. In a regular skincare routine, they work synergistically to give your skin everything it needs for maximum moisture and comfort.

      Skin Recovery Balm

The product gets sucked in right wear you put it on your face and doesn’t spread. You have to use a lot of product to feel like you covered your whole face and I don’t think my skin feels as nice after as it did with the phytolipid cream. I really miss the phytolipid recovery cream.

      Hi,

I’m so glad you have shared this feedback because you are absolutely correct in that it doesn’t have a lot of spread — this was intentional when Renee created it.

This is a true barrier restoring balm in that it creates a second skin effect and will not feel like a traditional greasy or silky moisturizer (which rely on using occlusives to give that feel). When it’s applied, (as you have experienced), it will feel a bit tacky and then once it dries down, it’s like it becomes one with your skin by creating a protective, moisture-locking seal which you can still feel in the morning, that’s how long-lasting it is. No greasy occlusives that just get transferred to your pillow case when you sleep. It is this seal that is the start of barrier restoration to help correct dryness and dehydration, not just topically, but from deep within the skin.

Renee has redefined dry skin moisture care by tapping into her Barrier5 technology. It will feel different so from a texture standpoint, it may take some getting used to, but this is a far superior formula than traditional moisturizers for dry skin correction. With continued use, your barrier will be healthier. I hope you can try it again with this new perspective.

      Love this new product!

This product is very good. I have used Skin Recovery Lotion for years. This is a heavier product. A little goes a long way. It is very good for dry, winter skin,

      Balmy Perfection

I’m absolutely living for this balm. My skin is hydrated, glowy, plumper and just looks more alive. It’s perfect. I have oily yet aging skin so it’s hard to find a moisturizer I love and that loves my skin but this balm truly hits just right. I wish I had purchased two at the conference.
